On Soft Susy Breaking Parameters in String Models with Anomalous U(1) Symmetry

چکیده
We study the magnitudes of soft SUSY breaking parameters in heterotic string models with anomalous U(1) symmetry. In most cases, D-term contribution to soft scalar masses is expected to be comparable to or dominant over other contributions provided that supersymmetry breaking is mediated by the gravitational interaction and/or an anomalous U(1) symmetry and the magnitude of vacuum energy is not more than of order m 3/2 M.

Anomalous U(1) Symmetry and Lepton Flavor Violation
We show that in a large class of models based on anomalous U(1) symmetry which addresses the fermion mass hierarchy problem, leptonic flavor changing processes are induced that are in the experimentally interesting range. The flavor violation occurs through the renormalization group evolution of the soft SUSY breaking parameters between the string scale and the U(1)A breaking scale. We derive g...
متن کاملScalar Mass and Cosmological Constant induced by “Anomalous” U(1) D-term
When the supersymmetric theory contains the “anomalous” U(1) gauge symmetry with Green-Schwarz anomaly cancellation mechanism in 4 dimensions, its Fayet-Iliopoulos D-term generates non-universal scalar masses and the positive cosmological constant after the supersymmetry breaking. Both give the new contributions to the known results from F -term. Our mechanism is naturally realized in many stri...
متن کاملLarge Squark and Slepton Masses for the First - Two Generations in the Anomalous U ( 1 ) SUSY Breaking Models
Considering that the soft SUSY breaking scalar masses come from a vacuum expectation value of the D-term for an external gauge multiplet, the renormalization of the scalar masses is related to the gauge anomaly. Then, if the external gauge symmetry is anomaly-free, the scalar masses are nonrenormalized at all orders assuming that the gaugino masses are negligibly small compared with the scalar ...
متن کاملModel-independent analysis of soft masses in heterotic string models with anomalous U(1) symmetry
We study the magnitudes of soft masses in heterotic string models with anomalous U(1) symmetry model-independently. In most cases, D-term contribution to soft scalar masses is expected to be comparable to or dominant over other contributions provided that supersymmetry breaking is mediated by the gravitational interaction and/or an anomalous U(1) symmetry and the magnitude of vacuum energy is n...
متن کاملElectroweak Breaking and the μ problem in Supergravity Models with an Additional U ( 1 )
We consider electroweak symmetry breaking in supersymmetric models with an extra non-anomalous U (1) ′ gauge symmetry and an extra standard-model singlet scalar S. For appropriate charges the U (1) ′ forbids an elementary µ term, but an effective µ is generated by the VEV of S, leading to a natural solution to the µ problem. There are a variety of scenarios leading to acceptably small Z − Z ′ m...
